Michael Olson

Mr. Michael Olson was appointed to the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee based on the recommendation of House Minority Leader John Boehner.

Mr. Olson is a career banker, currently serving as market president of U.S. Bank in Pella, Iowa.   He is active in both the Iowa Bankers Association and the American Bankers Association (ABA), having served as a prior member of the ABA's Compliance Administrative Committee.   He is also the acting chair of the ABA's Presidential Dollar Coin Working Group.

Mr. Olson currently serves as a Lieutenant Colonel with the Iowa Army National Guard.

Mr. Olson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.   He is also an honor graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a graduate of the United States Army Command and General Staff College at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas.
